We rescued a gorgeous blue mastiff pitty male about 7 months. He has been wonderful.
This evening when I was walking him, we came upon a chocolate lab on a street that approached us, and
Tuco our pitty went into full attack mode. When we rescued him, his four canine teeth were broken off (he ate rocks out of boredom)
I tried the trick of pulling his tail up and sticking my finger up his butt, but it did nothing.......the poor lab was screaming out
and it was the most horrible thing I've ever been though....(im 56 female, and have had dogs all my life). The Labs owner came running, and
he did the finger up the butt thing, and finally Tuco let go.................I know the lab shouldn't have been loose, in the first place, but that's not the
point. I am soooooo scared that Tuco may snap at us some day. I am the pack leader, and he knows it (so is my hubby) and he is WONDERFUL with us.
(The Lab was okay, so the owners told me) Tuco is neutered, and because we have three little rescue dogs, and an old boxer, we keep them separate, and we try
to spend as much bonding time with Tuco as we can, (going for byes byes in the truck, walks playing fetch ect;) DO I HAVE TO WORRY - It would break our hearts
to have to put him down, but it scared the HELL out of me, seeing this side of him.......... please tell me what to do to keep this from happening again. I always go
the other way IMMEDIATELY if im walking him and I see other dogs, but this dog came out of the bushes as we walked by........he was not aggressive at all.....
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOURE WALKING YOUR PITTIE? I don't want to muzzle him, cos what if WE RUN INTO another pittie (GOD FORBID )
I'M SO SHAKEN UP.................Tuco is wonderful with people.......but now I'm scared...a bit....
