It all depends on the age of your dog. Depends on what you are looking for in a dog. The bullier you want your dog the less exercise. Dieting is a big factor because you want your dog to have a higher food intake if you are going to excercise your dog and I advise you to have your dog on vitamins too if they are getting a lot of excercise. I dont know if I answered your question but if I didn't be more specific because conditioning and feeding is a broad topic.
I run my Boys and girls about 5 miles a day every day....naturally no treadmill. Some days I run them with neck chains, some days I harness them up and have them pull tires. About 1.5 miles. I have been running and conditioning pits and now bully pits for about 15yrs. As for feeding I feed my dogs a mix of Evo and raw Elk (from hunting season) and chickens that I raise just for feeding. My bullies are not the biggest or the "FATEST But they will out condition 95% plus of all bullies out there. If I had to guess I would say that my Bullies carry only around 4-6 % body but thick and cut up as a mother ****er!!!!
Sounds like you on the ball. That elk is real good and evo is also. Continue what you are doing but let them eat ALOT because they are working ALOT. If you are really letting them run this much I will let them eat as much as possible because they will never get fat on that workout regimen. Do you want to get bullier? Do you want them to stay wide and ripped up like they are now? Or do you want them to tone up more? But I do encourage you to put them on some type of vitamin because you are working them out a lot.
I would like my boys and girls to get much bullier.. but with the way they condition it is very hard to keep any extra bulk on. Do you think this is were the vitiams would help? They have a very high food intake but still no extra bulk. Don't get me wrong they look great. I have thought about cutting back on the conditioning but they love it so much. They have been doing it since they were just little pups, this is all they really know. Tell me what you think could help pack more LEAN bulk on.
I have 4 1/2 month male right now. He is 52 lbs. I pretty much let him eat how much he wants to because he runs around in the yard with all the other dogs. He will always be bully because his food intake is high. He is on vitamins, puppy gold, and I also give him alot of carbs (BREAD). Sometimes you just cant get the dog bullier. ONE THING WE HAVE TO ALWAYS REMEMBER, ITA ALL ABOUT GENETICS. YOU BREED TWO FREAKS YOU WILL GET FREAKY PUPS, YA DIG.
